• Cleanliness 9.0

  • The overall stay at Puerta America was quite good and satisfying. One thing to note is that you might need to ask for a kettle during check-in, as it isn’t typically available in the rooms. However, there are several nice stores nearby, like Lidl and Carrefour, so getting tea or coffee won’t be an issue. The staff is friendly and helpful, especially the bellboy and porter.
  • The location is pretty convenient, being close to the metro station and within walking distance of the city center (about an hour). The rooms were clean and refreshed daily, although you’ll need to request slippers at check-in. A minor downside would be the carpets with visible stains that could use some cleaning.
  • I first visited in 2018 when everything looked amazing—still new and clean—but my recent stay in 2025 revealed some wear and tear. There were damages in sitting areas, scuffed walls, and a few non-working lights. While it’s not a deal breaker, the hotel definitely needs some upkeep.
  • The hotel is located in a semi-residential area along a major road with supermarkets and restaurants within walking distance. Although it’s not right in the heart of tourist attractions, you can easily reach them via metro or bus.
  • My room was spacious with plenty of outlets, offering a lovely view of north Madrid and Four Towers. Plus, having Chromecast on the TV was a nice touch for streaming from my phone!
  • The breakfast was tasty with friendly staff serving in that area. Front desk staff were accommodating regarding room preferences like floor selection or adding items like water kettles.
  • This hotel has unique themes on each floor which adds character; I noticed many younger guests enjoying this distinctive atmosphere during my four-night stay.
  • I found great value for money here! The room size was good with useful facilities including a clothes steamer. While there’s an unusual window from the bedroom to the toilet (not ideal for romance), covering it up worked just fine!
  • The breakfast offered a varied selection, plus there’s a refreshing swimming pool for cooling down after exploring Madrid.
  • The reception staff provided excellent service by helping us navigate local dining options for authentic Spanish cuisine—a real highlight!
